Register Already, Will Ya?

In just 2 weeks, the Roundtable will hold its fourth meeting at the
Sheraton in downtown Sacramento. Do us a favor and register
today. Please! One sponsor slot is still available for $1000. All the
info can be found at: http://www.cenic.org/gb/events/rt1104/index.htm

And for those of you who always wait until the very last minute, it is now
officially the last minute. The hotel has extended the deadline for
getting a room at our good rates until Nov. 5. (Trust me. They are
good. Another event right after ours that K-12 people are attending has
room rates at $20 per night more.)

Vote Early, Vote Broadband

Since the election is tomorrow, I figured those of you are still undecided
might want to investigate broadband policies. Tina Nerat’s workshop folks
have the right idea -- educate elected officials - if they don't
understand, elect those who "get it".

To see how Bush and Kerry differ:

2. From CNET News, Digital Agenda: Broadband – 10 facts you should know
about broadband

3. From CNET News, Digital Agenda: Broadband -- Why policies must change
(there is an itty bitty chart in this article on Kerry vs. Bush)

Also, if you are interested in California candidates, the CCTPG sent the
2004 Youth & Technology Candidate Survey to every certified candidate
running for office in the California general election. Every California
candidate on the ballot for the United States Senate, the United States
House of Representatives, the California State Senate, and the California
State Assembly received the survey. 57 folks responded. Their responses
are here in an Excel spreadsheet. Know your candidates names before
attempting to look at this – not alphabetized.

Happy voting!
