I have yet to figure out why bwctl.ucsc.edu is producing such pathetic
results, but it appears to be something local to the machine. It's
running FreeBSD 5.4-STABLE.

I ran bwctl on nitro.ucsc.edu and saw much better results. I'm
not running bwctld on this box, as it is our NDT server. Summary
of the runs follows. The UCLA connection used an MSS of 8140. The
UCI connection used 1448 (Mike I - can you run jumbo frames to
iperf-uci?).

UCLA -> UCSC: 952 Mbit/sec
UCSC -> UCLA: 952 Mbit/sec

UCI -> UCSC: 654 Mbit/sec
UCSC -> UCI: 655 Mbit/sec
